Color Wheel

Words express ideas. For me, so does colour. I see ideas in colours and these colours are associated with levels of consciousness which range from blackish purple to pure gold.

Originally, the seven prismatic colours between these two points, appeared to me on acolour wheel with earth tones (magenta, scarlet and orange) on the lower half of the wheel and the above-ground colours (green, turquoise, ultramarine and violet laced with gold) on the upper half.

On the traditional colour wheel, complimentary colors stand opposite each other. It is impossible to pass from one to another ( say, red to blue) without passing by grey which is the spot at the center of the wheel This is because complimentary colors neutralize each other. Chemically, grey is an achromatic colour, possessing no hue.

I think of grey as the turning point between higher and lower levels of consciousness. In terms of consciousness, it is The Place of Willingness. Unless we are willing to leave the idea of a separated, egocentric identity for the higher vision of man made in god's image and likeness, we cannot arise to the thought and experience which exemplifies our spiritual inheritance as children of God. It is of this inheritance that Jesus spoke, saying, "it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom."
